Read MoreI was going to have the post title be "NEW ARRIVAL" but figured that was a jerk move with the whole baby on the way thing. No baby yet but we do have a brain child of Nate and I's to share with you today.
Do you remember when we shared our plans for a coffee table with some awesome curvy legs? Oh, you don't remember all the way back to March? Weird. We've had these beautiful legs from Osborne Wood Products, Inc sitting in our garage since then. They kept staring longingly at us just waiting to find a home. Nate has been working on the coffee table on and off for a few weeks and we finally got it moved into the living room last weekend. And we're in love.
Read MoreThings are about to change big time around here. I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant which means our little guy could be joining us at any time! We've made a mad dash the past couple of weeks to finish ALL OF THE THINGS. (Which equals lots of projects to share soon! Including the nursery!) We actually had a little down time this past weekend and we really weren't sure what to do with ourselves.
I managed to do a pretty terrible job of documenting this pregnancy. I honestly think it's because I forgot I was pregnant half of the time. I was extremely lucky to have such an easy first pregnancy. (Let's hope that carries over into labor but I don't think it works that way.) It's crazy that all I did was eat a little more and my body just knew what to do otherwise. Biology is crazy stuff.
I did read quite a few places that many moms regretted not taking maternity photos. I get it. You feel large. There's a lot going on. I'm extremely happy Nate and I took 15 minutes to snap a few quick photos for the ol' memory books though. It's funny because I can barely remember what it's like to not have a big ol' beach ball belly and I've only had it for 9 months. I can imagine the memory of it will fade quickly.

I'm not usually one to rush into Fall. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about Fall. The problem with Fall is that it is followed way to closely by Winter here in Iowa. We try to hang onto those hot Summer days for as long as possible. However, when you are 12 months pregnant and it's 95 degrees with 175% humidity, you openly welcome those cool Fall temperatures.
In order to entertain ourselves while we wait for this baby, we whipped up with hanging planter as part of our collaboration with The Home Depot.
Read MoreI can't believe I'm using the word "Fall" already in a post title! I hate to be one of those bloggers that jumps the gun on seasons but it's just around the corner. Crazy! I'm a big fan of Fall but I'm also a big fan of Summer. I'm always sad to see those warm temperatures and long days go. I am, however, very excited about our project for the Fall DIY Workshop with The Home Depot.
Read MoreI've been a crazy person in the kitchen this week. I get ideas in my head and MUST ACT ON THEM RIGHT NOW. My latest obsession is stocking our freezer for after our baby's arrival (Expected in just 4 short weeks. Eeek!). I posted this photo on Instagram and my personal Facebook and had some questions on what I was whipping up.
Read MoreHappy Monday! Hope your weekend was a lovely one. We are in full on baby prep mode around here. Nate worked on finishing up the nursery built-ins and I worked on stocking our freezer. We also took some time to finish sprucing up our master bedroom. Ike is pleased with the changes.
Read MoreSomething unbelievable has happened! I finished our little dude's quilt before his arrival. This is huge for a procrastinator like myself.
Picking out which quilt I wanted to make took a good month. This was quite the decision. I ultimately decided on a herringbone pattern. I like that herringbone has both modern and vintage properties. Or at least that's what I tell myself. Next up was the ever difficult color decision. I wanted the quilt to be part of the nursery but I also want to use it for his monthly photos. There are so many decisions in parenting already. As you can see navy, white and green won.

Read MoreOh hey, blog. Long time no write. Let's ease back into this blogging thing with a post with mostly horrible quality photos.
We've been enjoying a busy Summer. Our July 4th holiday weekend was a fun one. My family was in town. We spent some time thrifting and watching fireworks by the Mississippi. (These fireworks photos are the only good ones in this entire post. Nate has tips on photographing fireworks here.)
