As some of you may have suspected by my lack of blogging, I'm preggo!  (I always assume a lack of posting by a blogger of childbearing age means she is pregnant.)  The baby is due in September!

We've received a lot of the same questions from family and friends so I thought I'd answer them for you all here.

Oh, Monday. So soon?  And maybe with snow? That's harsh.

How was the weekend?  Ours was mostly good.  It was the first weekend in a couple months that Nate didn't have to work on Sunday.  That was awesome.  But we did have a bird trying to break into our house.  It kept slamming itself into our patio doors and living room window. I don't know how the stupid thing didn't kill itself.  I should note that I have a bird phobia. Birds can not be trusted with their pointy beaks and beady eyes. I texted Nate on Saturday telling him I was going to call the cops. He followed with a text of how he had to go buy deodorant because he forgot to wear some that morning.  He clearly was concerned about my safety (rude) and tax season is rotting his brain.

We did do some discussing of our plans for the next few months.  It sounds like Decor and Dog won't be lame once tax season is over. Woo hoo!  Ike is pumped.  He misses the blog.

I'm not sure if it's the extra hour of day light or the fantastic weather we are having this week but I've been one productive human being.  None of it really blog worthy but I definitely feel like I accomplished something!

Today I thought I'd share a quick yard update.  A yard update?  Sounds boring.  But there is a dramatic Michelle story involved so hang in there.  It is, however, long.

It's starting to look like Spring outside.  And our yard no longer looks like a zombie apocalypse.

What a good start to this Monday.  The sun is shining.  We're supposed to hit 50 degrees.  There's a chance we may have survived Winter!

My family was in town this weekend to celebrate my birthday.  We did our usual eating and thrifting adventures.  My brother commented that Decor and the Dog has been lame lately.  To which I replied "Your face is lame...and you're right."  He then called me lazy.  I then asked him how many DIY projects he's completed since January.  He replied that he painted a monkey.  I didn't ask further questions (mainly because I was terrified of the answer) but called it a tie.  I guess I'm becoming a normal human being that doesn't destroy their house every 2 seconds.  I'm sure it's just a phase.

Man.  Will this Winter ever end?  I keep getting questions of why I haven't been blogging as regularly. 
Well, I was battling some nasty stomach issues for awhile.  Once those resolved, Winter really took hold in Iowa and it's been gloomy and freezing.  I haven't had motivation to do anything productive let alone DIY.  The muscles of this operation is working 80+ hours per week.  Hence, no blog posts.

What have I had the motivation to do?  Snuggle Ike, hit "view next episode on Netflix" and put a lot of things in virtual shopping carts. 

Yesterday was a big day.  This dude turned eight.

We celebrated Ike's birthday with homemade dog treats (find the recipe here), tennis ball playing and snuggles. Sounds like a great birthday to me.

I often get asked questions about Ike.  That squishy face attracts people left and right.  We rarely make it through a walk without someone wanting to pet Ike.  Nate and I love the Wire Fox Terrier breed and we think Ike is a perfect fit for us.  The breed does have it's challenges and I'm not sure I balance that enough with the squishy face pictures. I feel that we will always own a Wire Fox Terrier because we love them so much. A lot of the qualities that we find charming, may not be so charming for a lot of people.  I'm pretty confident that none of Nate or I's family members would own a Wire Fox Terrier (maybe my brother?).  And that's okay.  I always warn people to do their research before adopting any breed of dog!

Man. Long time. No blog.

It's either because our lives have been so crazy busy awesome or so ridiculously boring that there was 100% nothing to write about.  I'll let you guess.

I do have a few posts planned for this week. Whoa.

I was cleaning the office the other day and realized that I haven't blogged about our new office chair. And the death of our old office chair. Normally office chair stories are probably boring.  But then there is my office chair story.

Do you know what makes the middle of the work week even more boring?  A Decor and the Dog tutorial.  But some people love these.  People that are crazy like Nate.

Without further ado, here's the tutorial for the living room end table that I shared on Monday!  Thanks to all of you that shared your thoughts.  We're still torn on it but it's hanging around until a better model arrives. You know, similar to how Nate and Ike are keeping me around.
