Happy Friday! On Wednesday I shared with you the start of my little brother's master bath remodel. And then I was a jerk and left you hanging for the reveal. I hope you slept okay. I know the anticipation was a lot but here's the reveal!

It was pretty fun to watch our plans come to life. There was still some touch up to do and some plumbing to finish when we left. But it sure did look pretty. That's all that matters when it's not your house, right? (Don't worry. My dad was there to help finish the rest.)

Let's take a look at the details.

Nate built the vanity. (See the tutorial here!) I love how it turned out. His attention to details lately is making me all gushy. Look at that metal pipe that not only looks pretty but is also the perfect place for a hand towel. The slats on the bottom, although majorly time consuming, make the piece. We'll be sharing the vanity tutorial next week. (Update: See it here!)

I had some concerns about storage in the bathroom. I asked my brother what he needed for storage. He told me "none". Turns out he has a large linen closet right outside of the bathroom where he stores all of his man beauty products. I was trying to keep resale (or a future lady) in mind. The bottom shelf has plenty of storage. There is also room above the toilet where a shelf could be installed for extra storage if needed.

I surprised little brother by suggesting that we stain the vanity. He looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. In the past I have always painted all of the things but I'm turning over a new leaf. I thought the wood tones would flow nicely with the rest of his home. I feel like I thought correctly.

The previous mirror and light situation was pretty horrible. The new one is slightly cramped but still pretty. It's an awkward space and my brother is tall (and therefore needs a tall mirror). We could have moved the light box to the left but then it wouldn't have lined up with the sink properly. Old house problems.

Now let's talk about the floor. My brother picked out the Noir Hex tile from the Tile Shop on his own. (The Tile Shop supplied us with the tile because they are the most awesome tile shop around. No, seriously. They are. We have previously used their tile in our kitchen and master bathroom.) The Noir Hex is a perfect choice. It looks stylish. It is great for a bachelor that doesn't rank cleaning as a top priority in life. I had never considered going dark with tile flooring before but I love it. It also feels awesome on bare feet. I kind of want my brother to install it in my house.

The before and afters on this space are pretty awesome. It's crazy that the whole project was completed in a little over a week and his cost was around $500. (We didn't touch the shower. It's in surprisingly good shape. The tile was provided at no charge. If your sister isn't a blogger, the cost would be ~$600 for this size of space.) Not too shabby for a space that doesn't even look like the same room.
