Our front door is having an identity crisis. There are pumpkins on the steps and this darling wreath trio on the front door.
It's just so pretty that I can't take it down! Our front steps will just have to celebrate fall-mas for the next two weeks.
I made this wreath trio for Saturday's DIY Workshop at the Home Depot. It felt so good to do something creative! I'll be sharing my tips and tricks at the Bettendorf store. Come join me to kick off the holiday decorating season!Read More
Now that Clark is almost 2 months old (Where does time go? Seriously.), it's probably about time to share his nursery. During my pregnancy I was all worried that we wouldn't finish in time. Our baby would totally think we were failures because we didn't have a room ready for him. Turns out he could care less. Babies are weird like that.
I'm breaking the nursery posts into two parts. There are lots of pictures and we spent a lot of time in here. One post didn't seem to do it justice. My gerbil attention span also does better these days if things are broken into segments.Read More
Man. I was hoping to have our nursery posts up this week but my little nerd thinks he only needs 20 minute naps at a time.
His cuteness slays me.
I always think about blogging first during my free time but then realize I'm now a mom and I need to do responsible things like shower and do laundry. I really didn't want the blog to turn into a mom blog but something happens when you plop a kid out of you. Your brain is only capable of thinking baby stuff. It's probably some evolutionary thing to help you keep your kid alive. Necessary but annoying.Read More
Happy November! Who's ready for the holidays? Normally I'd be with those that say "NOT YET CRAZY BLOGGER!". I like to eat my turkey in peace before thinking about Santa and his elves. This year, however, I think I need to start my DIY holiday projects early. The baby is extra helpful. And by helpful, I mean it takes 5 times as long to complete projects with his help.
Our last DIY Workshop of the year at The Home Depot is coming up soon. We're going to be making this awesome wreath trio. This trio will be quite the statement piece in your holiday decorating!Read More
I was going to have the post title be "NEW ARRIVAL" but figured that was a jerk move with the whole baby on the way thing. No baby yet but we do have a brain child of Nate and I's to share with you today.
Do you remember when we shared our plans for a coffee table with some awesome curvy legs? Oh, you don't remember all the way back to March? Weird. We've had these beautiful legs from Osborne Wood Products, Inc sitting in our garage since then. They kept staring longingly at us just waiting to find a home. Nate has been working on the coffee table on and off for a few weeks and we finally got it moved into the living room last weekend. And we're in love.Read More
Things are about to change big time around here. I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant which means our little guy could be joining us at any time! We've made a mad dash the past couple of weeks to finish ALL OF THE THINGS. (Which equals lots of projects to share soon! Including the nursery!) We actually had a little down time this past weekend and we really weren't sure what to do with ourselves.
I managed to do a pretty terrible job of documenting this pregnancy. I honestly think it's because I forgot I was pregnant half of the time. I was extremely lucky to have such an easy first pregnancy. (Let's hope that carries over into labor but I don't think it works that way.) It's crazy that all I did was eat a little more and my body just knew what to do otherwise. Biology is crazy stuff.
I did read quite a few places that many moms regretted not taking maternity photos. I get it. You feel large. There's a lot going on. I'm extremely happy Nate and I took 15 minutes to snap a few quick photos for the ol' memory books though. It's funny because I can barely remember what it's like to not have a big ol' beach ball belly and I've only had it for 9 months. I can imagine the memory of it will fade quickly.Read More

I'm not usually one to rush into Fall. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about Fall. The problem with Fall is that it is followed way to closely by Winter here in Iowa. We try to hang onto those hot Summer days for as long as possible. However, when you are 12 months pregnant and it's 95 degrees with 175% humidity, you openly welcome those cool Fall temperatures.
In order to entertain ourselves while we wait for this baby, we whipped up with hanging planter as part of our collaboration with The Home Depot.Read More
