I was hoping to have some big grand living room update today. Instead, I have some new horse tail art. It's new abstract art. I swear.
Over the weekend, I painted the fireplace area white (while Ike napped and murdered dog toys and pillows). We have a nice color trifecta going on. I'm digging it.
Nate went to install the built-in on the right. It's 1/8" off. Which is a problem because it won't sit flush on the sub-floor. We then talked and decided at this point it would probably be smarter to just wait and have the floor installed before installing the built-ins. With our mind changing track record, this seems like a good plan. Floor installation is still scheduled for Tuesday!
I meant to have some craft project for today's post. Instead I spent like 4 hours yesterday organizing my side of the closet.
I have a clothes hoarding/shopping problem. I made myself think long and hard about each item of clothing in this closet. I feel good about where I'm at now. (You can shop my closet by following @shopdecorandthedog on Instagram if you're into that sort of thing!) I organize by type of clothing (tank tops, blouses, dresses) and then color for each type. I moved things around so hopefully I can see more of what I have. I also plan to use my "Pinterest is Going to Teach Me How to Dress" board to mix and match in hopes of not wearing the same thing all of the time.
I told Nate I was never shopping again. And then I found out my very favorite/most awesome Everlane tees now come in new colors. How does one pass up colors like "root" and "red clay"??? And TOMS are on sale. The world is out to get me.
In hopes to stop my shopping addiction (and thinking the world is out to get me), I have decided to start meditating. Don't laugh. I'm serious. I did my first 5 minute meditation yesterday. I recently finished reading "10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Actually Works".I'll keep you posted on my mindfulness. Stop laughing.
The Ike man got a hair cut. He looks quite dashing. This poor guy has been a little under the weather this past month. He had an infected abscess on his foot. We got that cleared up and then he was battling some colitis issues. Another round of antibiotics and some fiber and we're back to smiles! And working out. Actually, he never acted sick. That's the beauty of Ike. He's happy/crazy no matter what. He's also mocking my new meditation stuff.
Hope you all have a great weekend! Do you have big plans? See you back here on Monday!
