DIY Tiered Herb Garden

Time to start another work week!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Nate and I were extra productive.  The laundry is clean.  The floors are mopped.  The toilets are scrubbed.  And the wall of molding is finally done!  *pause for dance party*

While we were working away, Ike was taking it easy.  This whole living room remodel has been hard on him.  We're making sure he fits in time for some R&R.

One of his favorite places to lounge is on our deck.  He sits and stares longingly at the door until we let him out.  He then wants back in 2 minutes later.  And then back out 3 minutes after that.  Oh, Ike.

Since the deck is his favorite spot these days, we've put him in charge of our new herb garden.

DIY Tiered Herb Garden. Great raised herb garden for decks!

Nate built this tiered herb garden a few weeks back.  We wanted something small and compact but large enough to hold a variety of herbs.  All three of us are happy with the result.

Nate designed this herb garden to have tiers but with open legs.  He did this so we'd need less dirt to fill the garden.  So smart that little husband of mine.

We have a variety herbs growing.  Basil, cilantro, spearmint, and lavender to name a few.  Is lavender an herb?  Eh.  Too lazy to Google.  It looks and smells pretty so I'm going with it.

I wanted the bottom row for flowers just to add a little color to our sort of boring deck.

Ike's new title is Herb Security Guard.  He takes his job seriously.  No bug will enter that garden under his watch.

Unless it's nap time.  Bugs are good for gardens anyways, right?

We'll post the tutorial for this garden later this week!

Who has some great basil, cilantro or mint recipes?  Send 'em our way!
