Quirky Gift Ideas

I'm doing this weird thing this year. I'm starting my holiday shopping early.  I've never been one of those Christmas Eve procrastinators but I have never started before Thanksgiving.  I'm not going crazy or anything.  I'm just gathering ideas and watching for sales. It's like I don't know who I am anymore. It's almost like I'm becoming a responsible adult. Nah.

I'm always torn between purchasing gifts from wish lists versus coming up with gifts that are a little more thoughtful.  Thoughtful gifts are hard when you don't know where to look.  One of the places I always turn to when gift shopping is, Uncommon Goods. I appreciate that they work with artists and small manufacturers to provide an awesome assortment of socially and environmentally friendly products. (They also won't sell products that harm animals!)  Today I've rounded up some quirky gift finds that I'm either adding to my list or pondering for friends/family! (Hide your eyes if you're on my list!)

I'm loving these State Dish Towels and Custom Zip Code pillow for my decor loving friends. The towel would look adorable framed or even sewn into a pillow!  For the men in your life, this Beer Cap Holder provides a unique way to display those precious bottle caps. (I don't get the need to save bottle caps but clearly it's a thing.)  My brother actually received this last year.  The quality is fantastic!

I'm finding this Couch Guest Book beyond hilarious. A great way to store silly memories with friends!  Cinema Lightboxes are all of the rage these days.  I don't know a single lady on my list that wouldn't love it.  Change it out for the holidays and birthdays!  You might want to pick up this Better Stuff Doormat for the holidays to keep those pesky box thieves away!

These Gummy Bear Lights would be a perfect addition to any little one's room! Or my master bedroom.  (Keep it classy, Michelle.)  I'm a little sad I didn't see this Taco Mobile before planning Clark's nursery.  Because tacos.  I'm quickly learning that most baby stuff is actually for the parents. Like these Mr. Face plates. I could have so much fun with these. I mean, Clark. Clark could have so much fun with these.

The only problem with pondering gift ideas is resisting the urge to blare the Christmas music and deck the halls. I try hard to not start too early so I don't burn out. (I did that one year. Lesson learned.)  It's supposed to turn cold here so I'm digging out the holiday tubs today.  Bring on those jolly tunes!

When do you start holiday shopping? Are you one of those Christmas Eve procrastinators or are you done in July?
