Diggin’ It

It’s Friday.  Beautiful, beautiful Friday.  Don’t you just love Friday?  Me too.

Here’s what we are diggin’ this week.

1. World Market's Yarrow Curtains:  It’s a really stinking good thing that we don’t have a World Market in our town.  Seriously.  I am, however, headed to the land of World Market this week-end and these beauties may be coming home with me.  If I don’t hate them in person.  Which is always a good possibility.

2. BB Daily Deals:  Rachel's mom has opened an on-line boutique called BB Daily Deals.  Sign up and you will receive e-mails regarding two deals per week.  I hear the selection is going to be great… cute boutique clothing and accessories to seasonal home décor to adorable kitchen items.  This week’s deals were the cute key fobs above and adorable seasonal garland.  Be sure to sign up here!

3. The Color Run:  I am running The Color Run tomorrow with some friends from back home and Nate’s sister.  The Color Run’s slogan is that it’s the “Happiest 5K on the Planet”.  The only rule is that you start with a white shirt.  You can walk, run, or dance your way to the finish.  At each kilometer, you are blitzed with color.  I. Can’t. Wait.

1.  Baby by Summer of Tears: **Warning:  This video has some sensitive material. If you’re easily offended, please skip!**   Nate showed this YouTube video to me last week-end. Mascara was running.  We both about peed our pants.  It’s about how these new parents feel more prepared to have children because of their dog.  Good stuff.

2. Photo Editor by Aviary: Nate thinks this app has better options to get you better photos on your phone.  There are more fine tuning options.  (That’s all I could get out of him.  Seriously, this series is liking pulling teeth.)

1. Self Portraits. Ike’s loving photos of himself this week.  There are no issues with self esteem and our furry friend.  I think this high level of self love comes from hearing “I love your dog”, “That’s the cutest dog ever”, “I’m going to steal your dog” on our nightly walks.  Oh, Ike.

What are you diggin’ this week?  Have you ran The Color Run? What’s your favorite phone photo app? Does your dog like looking at himself in the mirror too?

Diggin’ It

Holy Cow. I’m keeping up with a series.  Amazing.  The world may be ending.  You heard it here first.

Hopefully you can squeeze in a look at our favorites from the week.

  • I should retitle this “Michelle’s Favorite Kitchen Make-over of the Week.”  Maury (Life on Mars) wowed me with her addition of butcher block counters.  Seriously doesn’t even look like the same room.
  • Chelsea (Two Twenty One) is offering up her photo editing skills.  Have a photo that isn’t quite stellar but you don’t want to invest the money and time into learning photo editing?  Chelsea is here to help!  She edited up one of our cow pictures.  Be sure to check it out!
  • I’m madly in love with these Target cardigans.  I’m one of those elderly ladies that always has a cardigan no matter what time of year.  I really like the length of these..especially paired with skinny jeans.  My other new love.

  • Nate is lame.  I asked him what he was digging this week and he said “Your Mom.”  He doesn’t know I’m putting this on the blog.  This will teach him to play along with my blog games.  The only thing he could come up with is two albums that he has been listening to a lot while editing our vacation photos… Barenaked Ladies and Fun.  Let’s encourage Nate to try harder next week.  Mkay?

Dog:

  • Ike and I think this Good Dog Gift Bucket from Harry Barker would be fun gift for new dog owners.  Or for storing treats and bones. Ike thinks lots of bones would be good.

Should I kick the dude out of the weekly round up or give him another chance?  What are your favorites from the week?  Big week-end plans?  We are sleeping.  Just sleeping.  Okay, maybe hanging out with family too.  But lots and lots of beautiful sleep is in our very near future.

Diggin’ It

It’s that time of week where those of us behind Décor and the Dog share what we are currently diggin’.

  • Did you catch the nursery reveal over at NewlyWoodwards?  If not, you may want to.  Kim’s kind of a big deal and the nursery was featured over at Design Dazzle this week.
  • I have recently become obsessed with Emily Henderson’s blog. (And Emily Henderson in general.  Total girl crush.) She has this way of teaching me design things without me even knowing.  Like her post about best gray paint colors according to Ryan Gosling.  I thought you all might enjoy that one as well. You’re welcome.
  • I’ve been loving Benefit Cosmetics They'Re Real! Mascara for about 3 months now.  I like to really test things about before I share them on the blog.  I LOVE this stuff.  It goes on well.  Really defines the lashes.  Doesn’t clump. Opens my eyes up so Nate has an easier time gazing into them.  (I just barfed.) What more could a girl ask for?

  • Nate is loving the Roku HD Streaming Player a lot lately.  What is a Roku box?  It’s a little device that allows you to stream tv/movies without a computer (You just need Wi-Fi).  Nate uses it watch nerdy internet tv shows and Amazon Instant Video. You can also use it for Nexflix.  I can’t wait for tax season so I can start the second season of Downton Abbey!
  • One of his favorite nerdy internet tv shows is D-Town TV.  It’s a great weekly show about photography.  The show teaches DSLR tips and photographic techniques for all skill levels.  Sounds nerdy to the dudette but it will hopefully result in some great vacation photos.

Alli sent me an e-mail a couple of weeks back about a Groupon offer for the BarkBox.  Think Birchbox but for dogs. You pick your dog’s size and how much you want to spend per month (lowest is $17/month).  Each month a box of goodies is delivered to your door. At delivery, your dog not only gets a goodie box but he also has an excuse to bark at the delivery man.  It’s a dog win-win. Ike was totally into this.  I told him he needed to get a job.  He got mad and went and chewed a bone and forgot about it…until now…but then he saw a fly so I think I’m safe again.

What are you diggin’ this week?  Anyone else girl crushing on Emily?  Is your dog spoiled enough for the Barkbox?
